ALPHATECH-PHILLY TECHNOLOGY TRAINING CENTERS

We are minority owned, charitable nonprofit corporation. The corporation is registered in Harrisburg Pennsylvania. The company operates as a registered 501 (c) (3) nonprofit with IRS recognition granted in late January 2007.

We at ALPHATECH-PHILLY are dedicated in our goal to provide used and refurbished computer systems to low-income children. Simply put, computers are the new pencils and paper. Children without these basic tools are severely limited in their ability to gain better employment opportunities as well as a better understanding of the world around them.

Our research has determined that there are well over forty thousand children within the city limits that don't have access to a home-based computer system.

Our Computers For Kids Program has received a limited number of equipment donations from organizations such as The Franklin Institute, The Red Cross, The March of Dimes, The Mercantile Bank, (Maryland) Child Trends, Inc. (Washington, D.C.) and The Waterford Township School District in New Jersey.

Our program works as follows:

We recently created a working relationship with a local Computer Recycler. We now have the ability to purchase late model systems (DELL, HP, COMPAQ) for our program. This affords us the opportunity to provide consistently higher quality "same model" units for our clients.

One way in which we had created a connection to the community was by aligning ourselves with some of  Philadelphia's Charter Schools. We've had a lot of success in contacting eligible families through this relationship with the student community. We ask the schools to send our program flyers home with the children. The parents can then contact us at their convenience to make an appointment to come in and pick up a system.

Along with the equipment, we can also provide additional programs and suggest antivirus programs that we feel provide a high level of Internet Security.

We also provide delivery, installation and continued product support for all equipment we place. We expect to begin providing computer-training classes via on-line teaching methods in the near future.

ATPTTC authorized service vendors, with a minimum amount of "wait time", will correct any and all problems and repairs that might arise with the equipment. Sixty dollars of the purchase price being paid gives the client 6 additional months of in-home repair services. (Limited Warranty) This approach relieves the family of having to pay the high cost associated with repairs and upkeep of high tech equipment should problems arise.
